The Audi R8 is a mid-engine, 2-seater sports car that features the trademark Quattro four-wheel drive. The R8 was announced in 2005 and was based on the
'Audi Le Mans Quattro concept car' and was produced from June, 2007 onwards and is still in production. The car shares its basic layout, transmissions,
all-wheel drive, a few components and a modified version of its aluminium space with the Lamborghini Gallardo.
The R8, also like the Audi RS4, is equipped with a 4.2L V8 FSI petrol engine, which delivers a power of 420 brake horsepower at 7800 rpm and a maximum
torque of 317 Nm at 4500-6000 rpm. The car also has a 6-speed manual transmission. The specifications allow the R8 to go from 0 to 100 km/hrin a time of
approximately 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 301km/hr.
The interior contains seats upholstered either in Nappa or Alacantara leather and comes with a music system with stereo effect and 12 loudspeakers. The car
also provides the services of a navigation system and a parking sensor system.
Safety features of the Audi R8 include Antilock Braking System (ABS), electronic stability control and traction control. The car comes with seat-mounted
and knee-protecting airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, driver and passenger head restraint whiplash protection system, remote anti-theft alarm system
and tire pressure monitor system.
While Audi R8 has an engine on par with Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG and Porsche 911 S Cabriolet, the unique design is extremely different from what sports cars
