2018 Audi Q5 LWB

Audi is preparing to introduce a long-wheelbase version for its new generation 2018 Q5 and the model has now been spotted in China on a testing round without any camouflage. The car may be called the Q5L and is expected to be officially launched next year. The car’s wheelbase is increased by 89 mm as compared to the standard new generation 2018 Q5. The Q5L is the first Audi SUV to be sold in this avatar in China.

There are reports of the car being considered for a possible launch in the Indian market as well although nothing has been officially confirmed yet. The Q5L will also be 102 mm longer in comparison to the regular Q5 and the total length will be 4, 765 mm. the LWB model will get enhanced interior space along with much higher legroom. The central console and dashboard are expected to be quite similar to the regular model.

The styling and design will also remain largely similar and the SUV will look longer than the regular Q5 model. There may be similar ORVMs and alloy wheels for the car as well. The new Q5L badge will be the only differentiator at the rear. The car may use the turbocharged 2-litre petrol mill that has 187 BHP and 247 BHP tune states. There may be a 7-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission unit backed by the Quattro AWD setup.

China may get the Audi Q5L in the first half of 2018 and it may be launched in India sometime later although nothing has been confirmed as of yet. India has already received long wheelbase models from Audi so the launch could be a definite possibility.
