The 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has been snapped testing on Indian roads and this gives rise to speculation regarding a possible launch of the car sometime soon. The rear of the car has been spotted and the tail lamps and boot lid appear unchanged. However, the new Ciaz could still have some similarities with the brand new Alivio Pro from Suzuki. The front fascia may come with an all-new radiator grille in tandem with a couple of horizontal slats on the bottom and top alike.
The new Ciaz gets a 1.4 litre petrol engine that is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission unit. There is also a 4-speed automatic option on offer for the 2018 Ciaz. There is also a 1.3 litre diesel that gets the same 5-speed manual transmission option. There is a new 1.5 litre diesel engine made in-house by Maruti Suzuki that may be used for the Ciaz as a replacement for the fast ageing 1.3 litre diesel engine. The new engine may be debuted with the 2018 Ciaz as per reports.
The launch date has not been confirmed for the 2018 Ciaz as of yet. The 2018 Auto Expo may be a suitable platform for Maruti Suzuki to showcase the new Ciaz to car enthusiasts and the market launch may follow sometime later.
