Mahindra & Mahindra has already been testing the 2018 facelifted XUV500 on Indian roads and the car could be shown at the 2018 Auto Expo which will be held in February. The market launch could take place by mid-2018 as per reports. The 2018 XUV500 has been snapped while testing in India and a new design has been seen for the front fascia and headlights. The design of the car is expected to be quite similar to the model which is sold at present.
There will be double barrel projector headlamps which are completely new and these will be replacing the LED daytime running lights which were S-shaped. However, earlier models that were tested on Indian roads had the same headlamps as the model which is presently sold. There will be a new front grille and this will have several horizontal slats.
The facelifted 2018 XUV500 should also have brand new alloy wheels and a slightly redesigned rear profile. The car should have an upgraded mHawk 2.2 litre diesel mill that will dish out 170 BHP and 400 Nm. The present engine makes 138 BHP and 330 Nm and the transmission options will be the same 6-speed manual and automatic gearboxes. Mahindra & Mahindra has recently launched the petrol version of this engine which is the mHawk 2.2 litre petrol mill that churns out 140 BHP and 320 Nm. This engine is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission unit.
