The Datsun GO-Cross has been showcased at the Auto Expo 2016 held in New Delhi and is scheduled to be launched this festive season. Although, all details of this car haven’t been revealed, there are a few bits and pieces we know. The exterior profile of the car gets angular headlamps, round fog lamps, black body cladding and front and rear bumpers. Some of the features are a touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver information cluster and climate control. The engine is a 1.2L petrol engine and a 1.5L diesel engine. The proposed price is supposedly between INR 7-11 lakh. It might not be for first time buyers but definitely a good second option for a car.

Another concept car, which is still in the makes, the VW Up a hatchback, is expected to be one of the smallest and cheapest vehicles to be released in the Indian market. The Up is gearing up to compete against some big competitors. It is set to be released in 3 styles – 2-door hatchback, 4-door hatchback and a 4-door wagon. With features which are set to provide a comfortable ride in any condition, the Up features the same petrol engine and feature list currently available in its counterpart version in the global auto market. The engine is said to be a 999cc engine with three cylinders and a power of 58bhp and a torque of 95Nm. This will be mated to a manual or automatic gearbox depending on the variants.
The facelift of the Honda Brio which has been launched in the Indonesian market and soon to be launched in India remains the same mechanically. This means it will come with a 1.2L engine which will produce a power of 88PS and a torque of 109Nm. The interiors on the other hand, are said to be tweaked a little bit to offer a few more features like a new dashboard and new digital air conditioner. The exterior too comes with few trimmings to enhance the looks all the more. The estimated price is said to be around INR 5-6 lakh.
This sedan was showcased at the Indian Auto Expo 2016 and is soon to be launched in the market. This sedan comes with quite a few features like an infotainment system, 8 speakers, body coloured AC pallets, dual airbags, ABS and many other standard features. It will be powered by the same engine as the Tiago – a 1.2L three cylinder Revotron engine which produces a power of 85PS and a torque of 114Nm and a Revotorq 1.05L engine which produces a power of 70PS and a torque of 140Nm. Although now this engine is mated to a manual transmission, AMT will be available at a later stage. The economical car is said to have a mileage of about 26 km/l and in terms of looks will look similar to the Tata Zest. With added features, good pricing and fuel efficiency, the Kite is all set to fly off the radar!
A car which is launched recently, is all set to change the game for Tata, the Bolt is a car which offers an all-around package – good ride quality, fuel efficiency, compact size, decent engine, ample space and features. For the price of INR 5 lakh, this car is a smart purchase to make for daily commuters.
Another offering by Maruti, which is scheduled to launch in the next couple of months, the Ignis will come in both petrol and diesel versions. The petrol engine will be powered by a 1.2L K12B engine which is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and a CVT as well. The diesel engine will be driven by the tried and tested companies 1.3L DDiS engine. This mini looking SUV will definitely be a head turner and the price will be INR 5 lakh approximately.
