The car which we’re going to introduce now was first launched in 2011. After that, this is the first time it’s getting a major advancement. The Honda Brio Facelift, one of the smallest offerings in India is all set to take on the Indian market yet again. It’s going to be priced at INR 4.69 lakhs and talking about facelifts, the major changes are seen in the interior and exterior, although, the styling is very similar and in line with other vehicles in the Honda portfolio like the Amaze and Mobilio.

One thing the Japanese automaker has made sure of is to not stray away too much from the outgoing model. With the intention of providing a sportier feel, the changes have been made. The new facelift model now gets some tweaks; let’s have a look at what they are:

Exterior:

The exterior updates are quite negligible and subtle. The primary focus is on the interiors. Nonetheless, the exterior is designed to have a sportier look.

  • A new wider front grille finished in high gloss black and chrome.
  • A reformed bumper which gets larger air intakes and a mesh in the shape of a honeycomb.
  • The rear too is redesigned a tad – the facelift gets all-new stylish and elegant taillights.
  • A tailgate spoiler with high mounted LED stop-lamp.
  • Larger roof/tailgate mounted spoiler.

You get a choice of 5 colours for this model - Alabaster Sliver, Taffeta White, Rally Red, Urban Titanium and White Orchid Pearl (available at an additional INR 4000).

Plush Interiors:

Although reworked on, the interiors and cabin is quite similar to the portfolio models like the Amaze facelift. Nonetheless, it’s unique in its own way. Honda has worked on it to make the interiors more plush and comfortable as that’s where you will be spending most of your time.

  • Premium looking instrument panel with silver and carbon finish decals and accents
  • Redesigned air conditioner vents
  • Triple analog sporty metre with illumination in white (just to add that extra bit to the sporty feel)
  • Climate control
  • AC controls which can be digitally controlled and max cool function
  • The top end variant gets seats done in premium beige and black – basically the upholstery used is of top quality to add to the premium + sporty feel.

Infotainment:

  • Advanced 2 DIN integrated audio (AUX and USB) with Bluetooth connectivity
  • Steering mounted controls

Powerrrrrrrrrr…

Unfortunately, Honda has not upped the ante on the engine. Instead they are going with the same 1.2L i-VTEC engine which produces a power of 87BHP and a torque of 109Nm. This comes linked to both a manual and automatic transmission.

It is agreeable that this car is not designed for enthusiasts on the contrary this hatchback is more thought out and put forth as a city car which you can use for daily commutes and errands - basically getting from point A to B. In essence, it is designed for utility and not performance.
