IBB predictions on Maruti Suzuki launches in 2016 Auto Expo.
We have seen many market leaders losing steam to competition after a couple years in the market. The reason can be traced onto the complacency that sets in after a while. However, Maruti has been continuing its reign for more than three decades and continuously upping the bars year after year, making it hard for the competition to catch-up. Maruti Suzuki’s drawing board was always buzzing and ensured launching smarter, faster and sensible cars at the right times in the Indian car market.
India’s largest car manufacturer always ensured active participation in all the Indian Auto Expos. Maruti Suzuki is all geared up to launch a wide array of cars in this 2016 edition as well.
Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza (YBA)
Vitara will be Maruti’s entry to the compact SUV segment, currently dominated by the Hyundai Creta. Maruti has been extensively road testing the car all across the country, brazing the car to give a head-on battle with the Creta. The Vitara is expected to come with the 1.2 Liter K-Series VTVT petrol engine and the 1.3 Liter DDis diesel engines on the Swift. In-line with the Hyundai Creta, Maruti may also bring in the larger 1.6 Liter diesel engine currently doing duties on the S-Cross.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS Booster Jet
Maruti will be launching the Baleno with the three cylinder direct injection turbo petrol which spits out in excess of 100 bhp. Also, the car will have styling reflecting its performance intentions.
Maruti Suzuki Wagon R 7 Seater
This will be a game changer car for the Indian car market. Despite being an old template that dates back to early the 2000s, the car still manages to be right at the top of the sales chart. It is still the fourth highest selling car in India!!!
Maruti Suzuki will be launching a 7-seater version of this already versatile car. Maruti will be placing it below 4 meters for the excise duty benefits. Braced with an attractive price tag and a diesel power pot this car is all slated to be a runaway success for Maruti.
Maruti Suzuki Alto Diesel
Maruti has been contemplating to plant the 3-cylinder 793cc diesel engine found on the Celerio diesel into the Alto. This will be a smart move by Maruti, to further strengthen its hold in the ultra-competitive economy hatchback segment.
Maruti Suzuki Ignis
Code named as Suzuki iM4, this car will be positioned as a mini SUV against the likes of recently launched Mahindra KUV 100. The car will further add the variety in already diverse Maruti product portfolio. The car will be sharing the engines from the Swift and Baleno family, and will come with both petrol and diesel engine options.
