Tata Motors is all set to showcase its forthcoming hatchback, which is in close-to-production form, at the future Auto Expo 2018. As one among the “Hero Branded Products”, this new car is going to be showcased at the mega event. Further, the Tata X451 is referred to be the first model, which was built on the advanced modular platform of Tata Motors. It is also expected that AMP will become the base for Tata’s future small car ranges. That’s why the X451 will be positioned above the Tiago in addition to taking the likes of segment leaders including Hyundai i20 and the Maruti Baleno because it will be the first premium hatchback of Tata Motors.
It is really happy to say that Tata Motors is going to take its styling theme to the next level with the X451, which means Impact Design language 2.0. Even, the stylish Tigor compact sedan, Nexon Compact SUV, and the Tiago Hatchback are also based on the first level of brand’s Impact design language. A few months ago, a test mule of this new X451 hatch was spotted and revealed an outline, which is somewhat similar to the Tiago yet with longer wheelbase & length.
Yes, this new hatch will be 200 mm longer as compared to the Tiago with the length approximately 3,746 mm. However, it was still categorized into the crucial four-meter mark with an intention to slot itself under the lower tax slab. The other most important aspect, which was revealed from the test mule, was none other than the tapering roofline and the raked windshield together with the C-pillar-mounted rear door handle that will be expected to see on the upcoming Maruti Swift too.

Just like Tiago, the same 1.2 L petrol engine is used to power the vehicle yet with the addition of a little more power. It will also be expected that Nexon’s 1.2 L Turbo Petrol engine is going to join later. When it comes to the diesel front, a 1.05 L diesel engine as same as the Tiago would be carried forward in addition to a Variable Geometry Turbo for the purpose of facilitating higher power output. The production edition of this brand-new hatchback will possibly hit the Tata Showrooms in 2019 as it would be squashed out from the Sanand Factory of the company located in Gujarat. It will be a production center for almost all the cars, which are built on the platform of AMP Architecture.
