Tata Motors has started the New Year with a new initiative tailored at ensuring greater customer satisfaction. The company has launched its Best-in-class Warranty for 6 years which is an industry-first and this covers its lineup of multi-axel trucks, tractor-trailers and tippers weighing 16 tonnes and more in terms of Gross Vehicle Weight or GVW. This initiative is the first such endeavor from any Indian company and the drivelines inclusive of the gearbox, engine and rear axle are covered as standard while total vehicle warranty has gone up to 36 months from 24 months.
The Head, Commercial Vehicle Business Unit at Tata Motors, Girish Wagh, stated that Tata Motors has been a pioneer when it comes to value added customer service, new products and technology over the last 70 years and more. The company seeks to offer greater benefits to its customers with this 6-year warranty offer according to him. He also added that this indicates the company’s commitment towards ensuring superior vehicle and annual maintenance. He talked of how the 6-year warranty and 6-year AMC (annual maintenance contract) will ensure greater peace of mind for all buyers.
Wagh termed it as a New Year gift for loyal customers who have retained their trust in the brand. The 6-year driveline warranty takes into account the lifecycles of more than 20 lakh tippers and trucks that are operating in India from the Tata Motors stable. The warranty will be backed up by dealerships and service centres covering more than 1, 800 touch points and service facilities are available across every 50 kilometres in India. The warranty can be transferred upon reselling the product to a second owner for the remaining period only if this is informed to Tata Motors and if Tata Ok certifies the condition of the vehicle.
