After Honda first launched the Amaze in India, it rapidly became not only one of the best selling models for Honda, but also one of the highest selling cars in the country. Launching the Honda Amaze compact sedan was indeed a great step for the Japanese car makers Honda, as far as diesel cars are concerned.
The cabin inside the new Honda Amaze is the same as its earlier version. Honda Amaze is a compact sedan which offers one of the most spacious cabins. It has impressive leg space in the front as well as the rear with a fantastic boot space of 400 litres. The interiors of the Amaze have been touched with black and aesthetically designed with good improvements in the quality of plastic that has been used. The front chrome grille looks bold and upright and the fog lamp enclosures are bigger.
The Honda Amaze is driven by a 1.2 litre iVTEC engine that generates 87bhp and 110Nm of maximum torque. On the other hand, the diesel version is powered by a 1.5 litre engine that generates 98bhp with 200Nm of peak torque. This engine comes mated to a five speed manual transmission. The petrol version also comes with five speed automatic transmission and is said to offer a mileage of 17.8 kmpl. The diesel motor is a lot more powerful than the petrol one and returns a mileage of 23 kmpl in the city roads.

Ameo is the latest car from the house of German car makers Volkswagen. This German auto making major has stepped into the compact sedan segment in the Indian car market with the Ameo which is the compact sedan version of the Polo. The Volkswagen Ameo is particularly made to target the Indian consumers with an aim to make the most of the tax benefits of vehicles which are under 4 metre length.
The Ameo has got the elegant looks of the Polo with the same front grille design, head lamps and bumper. The interiors of the Ameo are also very well styled with a good sense of aesthetics, but is somewhat disheartening that the Ameo has been given fabric interiors not leather upholstery, though the leather wrapped steering wheel and the premium quality of plastic used add a premium feel to the interiors of this car.
The all new infotainment system is superior both in terms of the user interface and touch screen hard ware. The Ameo offers great space inside with a boot space which is quite large. The rear passenger seats can be further folded down to give away a larger storage area. The Ameo is driven by a petrol 1.2 litre engine and a 1.5 litre diesel engine, both of which come mated to a 5 speed manual transmission system.
