Datsun Redi Go
Datsun unveiled the Redi-Go concept in the 2014 Auto Expo. Finally, Datsun is Redi to launch the car in Indian car market. Datsun will be taking pre-orders from 1st May 2016 and the delivery will start from the first week of June 2016.
The car shares the underpinnings of the Renault Kwid, which in turn is based on the CMF-A global platform developed by the Renault-Nissan alliance.
There are not much variation between the concept model unveiled in 2014 and the 2016 production ready unit, which is a good thing to start with. The face reminds of the Datsun GO, albeit more aggressive with the big hexagonal grill with chrome and swept back headlamps. Coupled with a muscular side profile and its high ground clearance gives it a crossover flavor.
The 2350 mm wheelbase indicates that the car will have ample space inside and most probably will have identical dimensions of the Renault Kwid.

The car will share the 800 CC gasoline powered motor doing duties in the Renault Kwid and will be dispensing identical power and torque figures (53 bhp/72 Nm).
Competition Land Scape
The car will be competing for its sales share against the likes of Renault Kwid, Hyundai Eon and the Maruti Alto 800. The car is expected to be priced in the Rs 2.7 Lakhs to Rs 3.4 Lakhs price bracket.
Datsun should have brought this car during the brand’s entry into the Indian car market in the first place. Nevertheless, Redi-Go will give the much-needed push to the Datsun brand in the country.
