Recently, some leaked images were shown regarding the facelift version of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz before its official reveal. But, now Suzuki China had dropped down the curtains of updated sedan and revealed the all new Suzuki Alivio whose Indian version is none other than the “Maruti Ciaz 2018 facelift” at the Chengdu Motor show 2017. At present, both the China-spec version Alivio and its Indian version Ciaz have similar designs yet with some minor modifications. The new model will get restrained yet the exterior gets extensive cosmetic upgrades whereas the interior is found to be updated with brand-new features. However, the overall dimension of the vehicle will remain same devoid of any modification.
When it comes to the artistic updates, the modifications are slightly in-line with the leaked images. A new single-frame grille will take dominance, while the bumper is tweaked in order to accommodate the newly adopted grille design. To get a premium look, the fog lamps are revised with the chrome bezels. Even though headlights won’t receive any major changes, yet come with some definite tweaks including the replacement of current halogen bulb by LED or Bi-Xenon units. The tail lights on the rear end have been reworked for incorporating a huge stop lamp and the bumpers are redesigned to get a clear look. For better reflectors, the cut outs are neatly integrated.

Maruti has also launched the Ciaz’s S version in which the top end trim will be available in both diesel and petrol engine, priced at INR 11.55 lakh and INR 9.39 lakh, respectively. More than that, the S variant has also got some cosmetic upgrades like 16-inch alloy wheels, projector headlamps, and others. Please keep it in mind that china-spec Maruti Suzuki Ciaz will not be as same as India. It has some influences over the Indian facelift, which is now under development. Since the updated Ciaz has already been tested and is expected to reach the Indian showrooms next year. As the Honda launches its new generation Honda Verna, which looks promising, Maruti would certainly need to play its appropriate cars with an intention to keep the sales high for the Ciaz.
