Ferrari has officially revealed that the launch of the eagerly awaited flagship Ferrari 812 Superfast will take place this month itself. This should delight enthusiasts who have long waited for the replacement to the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. This rear-wheel-drive GT front-engined model will launch on the 10th of March 2018, as per reports.
This gets a V12 6.5-litre engine that makes a whopping 789 BHP and 819 Nm of peak torque. The exhaust note is expected to be mindboggling, considering that this is probably one of the last V12 based supercars to be launched before the world shifts to smaller V8 engines with twin turbochargers and more hybrid technologies. The Ferrari 812 Superfast will compete with the likes of the Aston Martin DB11 and Lamborghini Aventador S along with the Bentley Continental GT. Prices could start from around Rs. 5 crores as per reports.
The design will be aggressive as expected with sleek headlights and a wide grille along with active front aero for downforce and gills above the headlamps for boosting airflow and cooling. The Ferrari 812 Superfast also comes with a long bonnet and swooping roofline in addition to a stubby boot. The rear gets quad tail lamps and exhaust pipes which match each other to perfection. There is a huge central diffuser while aerodynamics are enhanced with more vents and swoops.
The Ferrari 812 Superfast will get a traction control system complete with the Side Slip Control option which is brand new. This will help during cornering and there will be rear-wheel steering as well. The car can touch a maximum of 340 kilometres per hour and this should be music to the ears of supercar lovers!
