Ford India has finally launched the much-awaited EcoSport facelift in the Indian market. The car is priced from INR 7.3 lakhs (ex-showroom) onwards and comes with a brand new 8-inch touch screen infotainment unit that also gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto features. There are voice commands on offer as well.
The new EcoSport also gets bigger fog lamps along with new headlamps and daytime running lights. The hood has been raised for a more muscular stance and the new trapezoidal grille enhances the design and comes embellished with chrome. The spare wheel remains mounted to the rear door like before. The EcoSport also gets new 17 inch alloy wheels which reinforce the butch stance of the SUV.

The new EcoSport comes with 1.5 litre petrol and diesel engines. The brand new 1.5 litre Ti-VCT engine makes 120 BHP and 150 Nm. The engine will be paired to 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission units. The latter replaces the torque converter unit used in the previous version. The top variant will come with 6 airbags while other variants will have ABS and dual airbags as standard features.

Ford has also introduced the Emergency Assistance feature for the new EcoSport where there is automatic linkage to emergency services in case of any road accidents or other mishaps. The new EcoSport will compete directly with the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra TUV300 and Honda WR-V in its segment.
