Honda Cars India Limited has confirmed that the new 10th generation Civic will be launched in the country this year itself. However, the current version shown at the 2018 Auto Expo may be skipped for the globally facelifted model which could directly launch in India sometime around the festive season. Yoichiro Ueno, the President & CEO at Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL), has confirmed that the new Civic will launch later in the year and will be slotted above the Honda City.

The 8th generation Civic was the model that was discontinued in the Indian market and the 9th generation version never arrived here. Honda is now looking to revive the Civic nameplate and the car gets the brand new modular platform that also makes its way into the new CR-V and Accord models. There are several turbocharged and naturally aspirated petrol drivetrains available for the Civic worldwide and there is a diesel turbocharged engine as well. However, the Indian version should get the i-DTEC diesel mill that makes 120 PS and 300 Nm along with the petrol 1.8-litre i-VTEC engine that makes 141 PS and 174 Nm.
The new Civic will have a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, LED headlamps and tail lights along with LED DRLs, dual-zone automatic climate control, navigation and Apple CarPlay, premium leather upholstery, electric parking brake, the powered seat for the driver, brake hold, multi-angle rearview camera and six airbags.
