Honda Cars India is reportedly considering an official unveiling of the eagerly awaited 2018 CR-V and new Civic models at the 2018 Auto Expo which will be held next month. Honda Cars India will also showcase the 2018 Amaze at the event. Reports state that both the new Civic and CR-V may launch earlier than anticipated in the Indian market. The new CR-V is due for a launch this year itself and for the very first time, will come with a diesel engine option and a 7-seater layout. This will help it compete better against formidable rivals in the premium SUV category.
The engine used in India will be locally manufactured and this will be the 1.6 litre Earth Dreams diesel engine that puts out 160 BHP and 350 Nm of peak torque. There will be 6-speed manual and 9-speed automatic transmission options. The new diesel engine may find its way into the Honda Civic facelift as well and there will be a 1.8 litre i-VTEC petrol engine for the car too.

The Honda Civic is expected anytime in 2019 as far as an official market launch is concerned. India will get the facelifted model at the market launch while the car shown at the 2018 Auto Expo could be the current generation model which is not sold in the country. The Civic has always held onto its fan base in the country, particularly for the low-slung, coupe-like design and the sporty look and feel.
