Honda has officially unveiled the new 2018 Amaze at the ongoing Auto Expo. This is the second generation version of the sub-compact sedan and on the surface, it looks more like a mini version of the new Honda City which is not a bad thing. Apart from sporting an all-new look, there are refurbished interiors with more features like the 7-inch Digipad touchscreen infotainment system with integration for smartphones and navigation along with several other additions.

The 1.2-litre petrol engine is retained and dishes out 87 BHP while the 1.5-litre diesel engine has been tuned for more power. The market launch of the new Amaze can be expected sometime later in 2018 and it will take on the market leader Maruti Dzire which is doing excellently in terms of sales volumes. Honda’s engineers have claimed that the engines are more fuel efficient now.

The Amaze is being worked on at the Thailand R&D unit of the company although there are more inputs provided by the engineering division at Honda Cars India this time as per reports. The Honda plant at Tapukara in Rajasthan will be the supply base globally for the engines that will be used for the brand new Amaze.
