Hyundai has officially unveiled its new 2018 i30 Fastback globally and this comes with best-in-class features and an attractive design. In comparison to the i30 hatchback which is sold globally, the Fastback version gets a roofline which is smoother along with a striking rear design. The front fascia gets the signature Hyundai grille complete with LED daytime running lights and dual barrel projector headlamps. The rear is reminiscent of the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe but the dimensions are lower and the car is more compact. The car is longer by the hatchback version by 115 mm and there are 18 inch wheels on offer as well.
The car draws inspiration from the Audi A5 Sportback particularly in terms of its bold character lines. The car makes for a practical choice since it ensures maximum comfort as far as passengers are concerned. The frame is positioned 5 mm lower and the suspension system is stiffer in order to ensure enhanced ride quality. The car feels sportier on account of the all-black interior theme followed for it. The steering wheel feels nice and comes with all necessary buttons for shortcut feature access. The new 2018 i30 Fastback gets a petrol turbocharged 1.4 litre engine that dishes out 140 hp and 242 Nm. There are several top-notch safety features on offer including a road speed sign reader, rear cross traffic alert, driver attention warning, forward collision warning, high beam assist, smart cruise control and lane change assist.

The 2018 Hyundai i30 Fastback may not be launched in the Indian market since Hyundai will find it hard to sell this expensive model which costs more than the Elantra. Positioning this car which will be priced close to Rs. 20 lakh will be tough in a market where Hyundai has a reputation for being a mass brand. The car has an estate version in several global markets as well.
