The Jeep Compass passes safety tests of Australian standards

The Jeep Compass has gained recognition for its off-road capability and the high reliability of performance on all road conditions. The Compass has been designed to look like a baby Grand Cherokee with influences from the Jeep Renegade. The upgraded version of Jeep Compass will have a new exterior design with refreshing styling features like new radiator grille, signature styling hexagonal chrome rings and new Bi-Xenon HID headlamps. The interior comfort and luxury features would have new trims and superior quality upholstery. The all new model of the Jeep Compass is all was launched in August 2017 in the Indian market.

It has found its way across the global car market and the exported goods are now found in Australia, New Zealand and Japan. This SUV car was subjected to Euro NCAP tests for authenticating its safety features and has been awarded a 5 star by Australian New Car Assessment Programme (ANCAP). Manufactured at the Fiat Chrysler Automobile (FCA) facility in Ranjangaon, Maharashtra, this car is loaded with 70 safety and security provisions including adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, hill start assist, 9 airbags including side chest and curtain airbags, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), lane support systems (LSS)  rollover mitigation system, adaptive brake lights, cornering lights, four-channel ABS and ESP, Panic Brake Assist, Hydraulic Booster Failure Compensation, Electronic Roll Mitigation and Electronic Brake Pre-fill.

While the Compass is set to get about 17 powertrain options globally, for India they have the 170bhp 2.0-litre Multijet II engine. It also has a petrol engine option – the 1.4-litre T-Jet engine from Fiat that develops over 160bhp of power. The top trim petrol engine comes mated to a seven-speed automatic gearbox. However, other trims in petrol and diesel variants are offered with a six speed manual transmission. The car comes in 10 different variants with the lowest variant tagged with a price tag of Rs 15 lakh and the top end model having a price tag Rs 21 lakh.
