The Jaguar E-Pace has been unveiled by the company and orders are already being taken for this luxury crossover with deliveries expected to start within 6 months. Jaguar witnessed stupendous success with the F-Pace SUV which notched up in excess of 80, 000 units in sales post its launch in the year 2016 and contributed almost half of the total sales volumes of 172, 848 cars worldwide for Jaguar Land Rover.

The company is now back with the E-Pace compact performance SUV and it is basically a scaled down avatar of the F-Pace in terms of size, pricing and power. The new Jaguar E-Pace will initially be manufactured at Graz in Austria and will also be manufactured eventually in China for the local market there. Jaguar wishes to position this car as the ultimate crossover for millennials and young couples with its contemporary and stylish design, top-notch connectivity and storage space.
The Jaguar E-Pace reflects the sports car genes of the brand and comes with distinctively arresting haunches, short overhangs and Jaguar proportions. Performance is combined with practicality in the Jaguar E-Pace which should introduce newer fans to this iconic brand. The silhouette looks sporty while there is a detailed interior as well. The E-Pace is a smart compact SUV that gets all-wheel drive technology and other connectivity features. Key features include a sports gear shifter, optional 21-inch wheels and a wraparound cockpit in tandem with the drool worthy J-Blade daytime running lights. According to the Design Director, Ian Callum, the new E-Pace is the most playful car unleashed in the 81-year journey of the brand. He states that it is a balance of femininity and masculinity, not overtly genteel but also muscular, sensuous and curvaceous simultaneously. The E-Pace is more like an F-Type than the F-Pace in some ways according to Callum. He highlighted the headlamps, the roof profile and character lines to establish his point.
The E-Pace introduces a more evolved design language including the brand new chicane light graphic, which is inspired by racing cars. There is a long wheelbase and short overhangs which also promise greater comfort and spaciousness inside. The interiors come with premium leather upholstery and contrast stitching in tandem with customizable interior lighting. There are front-row sports seats with soft grain Windsor leather while smaller details include the subtle Jaguar print on the stowage mat and minuscule Jaguar and cub on the windscreen. There are heating dials along with continuously variable damper technology. The triple-tube design adjusts damping force across every 0.01 seconds. There is the Active Driveline all-wheel drive system which offers shifting up to 100% of torque to the rear axle for offering the attributes of a rear-wheel drive or also to the front axle for enhancing fuel economy.

The E-Pace also comes with Adaptive Dynamics, which can adjust damper settings, transmission shifting speed and suspension settings. There are 2.0 litre petrol and diesel Ingenium engines that range in output between 150 and 300 PS and come with 9-speed automatic and 6-speed manual transmission options across several AWD and front configurations. The E-Pace also has a 10-inch customizable Touch Pro tablet touch-screen display with pinch, swipe and pan functions. There is the wearable Waterproof Activity Key. The vehicle can be linked to your smart-watch through the Remote Premium app for ascertaining the lock status, fuel levels or location. There is a full-color head-up display, which gives you all necessary information as well. There is the 12.3-inch HD full-color display unit with 3D mapping abilities. The E-pace comes with Quad Core processors along with the optional Head-Up Display, which is an LED-illuminated TFT-powered widescreen full-color system that can display more information with enhanced clarity. There is an optional Meridian sound system with 825-watt surround sound options. Safety features include Autonomous Emergency Braking powered by forward and rear cameras that will trigger the brake or steering interventions for greater safety, Blind Spot Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control with Queue Assist and Park Assist.
The InControl Remote will also help you find your vehicle and pre-set climate control in the cabin prior to your entry. There are 6 airbags along with a pedestrian airbag and ISOFIX points. There are Adaptive Matrix LED headlamps with the sweeping flash indicator and the interiors boast of more than 40 litres of storage capacity. Boot space stands at a generous 577 litres and folding the rear seats increases this to 1,234 litres. There is Gesture Tailgate technology where you can use your foot to open the boot. The E-Pace and E-Pace Dynamic are available in S, SE and HSE grades with five powertrain choices (three diesel and two petrol Ingenium engines). The 2.0 litre diesel Ingenium range is available in 150 PS, 180 PS and 240 PS versions while the four cylinder Ingenium 2.0 litre petrol engine is available in 249 PS and 300 PS guises.
There are four different roof designs including a fixed, black panoramic roof. The color options available include Yulong White, Caldera Red and Santorini Black. There are 20-inch Satin Grey six-split-spoke diamond-turned alloy wheels along with glossy black detailing.
