One of the most successful cars in the Indian automotive history, the legendary Swift will be launched with a completely fresh design in India. The 2017 model Swift was unveiled to the world in Japan in a special event. Swift, since its launch re-wrote the rule books of hatchbacks in India. The new car is made on a fresh template and it shares the underpinnings with the larger Baleno. The car will get a fresh design and a totally redesigned interior.

The face and the hexagonal grille reminds of the Elite i20. The car gets a sharp pair of headlamps with integrated DRLs. Top trims will get a new set of alloys and the side profile more or less resembles the current model. The door handles for the rear doors are on the pillar, similar to the one on Chevrolet Beat. Come to the rear and what you get is a redesigned bumper, a new set of LED rear lamps and a rear spoiler.

New interiors definitely look upmarket and are thoroughly reworked; the top variant will come equipped with touchscreen infotainment with Apple carplay and Android auto capability. The interior space and boot space is expected to be similar to the current model.

The car will come with the existing 1.3 liter Multijet diesel motor and the 1.2-litre VVT petrol motor. The car may also come with the powerful 1.0-litre 110 bhp Boosterjet petrol engine.

Maruti Suzuki will price the new Swift at the current price levels and below the Baleno. With the new Ignis round the corner, Maruti will be bringing the new Swift only in the second half of the 2017 calendar year.

The updated Swift will definitely ensure that the Swift remains right at the top of the car sales chart in India.
