After hitting gold with the Kwid, Renault India is planning to bring the MPV, Renault Grand Scenic to India. This car is the larger version of the Renault Scenic MPV sold in the European markets.

The Grand Scenic is a seven seater and obviously much longer than the five-seater Scenic MPV (24 cm longer). The Grand Scenic appears far superior in terms of looks compared to any other MPVs on the road. This car can be best described as a chic style MPV. It’s got all the curves, swoopy rooflines, and some muscle, yet retaining the functionality of an MPV.

Space is one main reason for the car buying public to buy an MPV, and the Grand Scenic has lots of it. The car has pretty good legroom at the front and the middle row. As mentioned earlier, the car has a third row and can accommodate a total of seven people. The car will not be as lavish in space compared to the recently launched Toyota Innova Crysta.

The dashboard has an interesting design and we liked it. Hope Renault will carry forward the same theme and will load the car with all essential features and equipment. The driver gets a nice high driving position and lots of glass around the driver ensures a good view of the surroundings. The technical specifications are yet to be announced. However, we expect the car to come with the same engines seen on the Renault Duster, the 1.5 Dci diesel, and the 1.6 K4M petrol motors.
The car is expected to be priced at Rs. 9-13 lakh (ex-showroom) price when it is launched in the first half of the calendar year 2017. Renault will be eying a share of Toyota’s Innova Crysta. However, Renault needs to price it sensibly so that the car can garner volume from the Ertiga at the bottom and Innova Crysta and the top of the price spectrum.
