Skoda India is expected to launch the Kodiaq 7-seater SUV on the 4th of October, 2017. The flagship 7-seater SUV from the Czech automaker looks premium and comes with the signature Czech crystal headlamps and tail lamps along with attractively designed fog lamps. There are 18-inch wheels and the Kodiaq also gets the butterfly grille which looks more aggressive with more detailing and creases for the sides. The base of the car comes with grey cladding which is quite subtle. The Kodiaq looks contemporary and attractive but not as large as the Endeavour or Fortuner among other full-sized SUVs.
The interiors are premium and get the regular Skoda dials, stalks, steering wheel, air conditioning controls and window switches. The dark grey and beige color scheme is used like other Skoda vehicles. The seats are comfortable and the front seats come with several adjustment options. There is the 8-inch touch screen infotainment unit which is also present in the new Skoda Octavia and comes with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and the proprietary navigation setup. There is 10-color ambient lighting along with a Canton stereo complete with 12 speakers. There are several graphics which display driving information and other necessary details. There is a 270-litre boot which increases to 630 litres by folding the last row and 2,005 litres by folding the second row as well.
The parcel shelf also neatly folds into the cubby positioned under the boot floor when it is not needed. The spare wheel is also neatly packaged lower for saving more space. There is a huge panoramic sunroof along with memory functions for both seats in front. There are automatic headlamps along with a rear view camera in tandem with a drowsiness sensor and hands-free parking assist. There are several clever features from Skoda as well including a magnetized flashlight that can be attached to the car while changing tyres or the plastic bumpers which come out and safeguard the door edges when opened and disappear again when closed. There is also the small dustbin in the door pocket along with several other smart features. There are 9 airbags along with a wealth of safety features.
