Volkswagen will be bringing their new second-generation Tiguan to India. The car shares the MQB platform that is found under the present generation Skoda Octavia. The present Tiguan is an evolution of the older model, with improvement in all aspects compared to the previous model. 2017 marks the tenth year of VW in the Indian sub-continent.
The Tiguan gets the same familiar face of the VW family cars, very well adapted to an SUV format. Tiguan’s face is dominated by the bold radiator grille and VW signature style headlights. The car gets clean lines on the side profile and a high shoulder line. The rear is little timid for an SUV, or can we call it VW’s understated elegance philosophy?

The car will be powered by a 2.0-Litre diesel engine that generates a peak power of 177 hp and peak torque of 350 Nm. The engine will be mated to a seven-speed DSG gearbox and will come with an All-Wheel Drive system.
The car is expected to be priced in the INR 32-36 lakh (ex-showroom) bracket once launched. The Tiguan is expected to be launched in April 2017.
Once launched, Tiguan will be competing against the likes of Hyundai’s Santa Fe.
