Volvo packed in as much as elegance and grace possible on four-wheels on the S90; the car has a low but confident stance and studied elegance. It has more of elegance rather than the executive style which is more prevalent in its class. The signature Volvo chrome grill with a large Volvo logo, sharp yet elegant lamps with the ‘Thor’s hammer’ DRLs and the chrome strips at the bottom completes the front end. The side profile is pretty simple and proportionate for its near five-meter length. The S90 gets 18-inch wheels and the rear is limousine-like with a pair of large rear lamps and twin barrel exhausts.

The interior is huge, luxurious and classy, made with the best materials available in the car world. The dash has a simple yet elegant design sans much buttons and knobs. The Volvo S90 like its stablemate, the XC90 gets a large touchscreen console at the center. The dash gets soft plastics, wood-leather and chrome treatment; the attention to detail is worth a mention. Front and rear seats are pretty huge and accommodate even bigger frames with great comfort and the front seats are fully power adjustable.
Powering the S90 is a 1969cc turbo-diesel unit which generates 190 bhp and 400 Nm torque. Expect the car to be priced around Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top of the line Inscription variant.
It’s an elegant package and stands out pretty well from the German crowd. The graceful design, well-appointed and luxurious interiors, high-tech safety features makes it a car to wait for in the luxury car segment in India.
