The Lexus NX 300h has been officially launched at Rs. 53.18 lakhs (ex-showroom, India) for the regular version while the F-Sport version comes at Rs. 55.58 lakhs (ex-showroom, India). The prices have been kept really competitive in order to appeal to a younger and wider set of customers as per the President at Lexus India, Akitoshi Takemura. He talked of how younger customers will appreciate the dynamic styling of the Lexus NX 300h along with its engineering quality. The approach taken by Lexus towards prices is akin to that of the one nation one price philosophy driving the brand and its alignment with the future vision of the Indian Government.
The interesting thing to note is that the NX 300h is a hybrid SUV as the blue backlight for the logo indicates. The design is sleek and harks to the future with the signature front Lexus grille, independently positioned daytime running lights and LED headlamps. Other touches include side skirts, roof rails, rear diffuser, wheel arch plastic cladding, wraparound LED tail lamps and a roof-mounted spoiler. Deliveries will be starting from March 2018 while bookings have already commenced.
The interiors are luxurious and the rear passenger seats can be electronically folded, reclined and brought back up by simply pushing one button. There are ventilated and power-adjustable front seats (8-way) in tandem with leather upholstery and a panoramic glass roof. There is a 10.3-inch multi-information display unit along with 360-degree panoramic view monitor, rearview camera and back guide monitor, dual zone climate control, ABS with EBD, vehicle stability control, 8 SRS airbags, rain sensing wipers, wireless charging, electronic parking brakes and hill start assist.
The car has driving modes such as Eco, Sport, Custom, Sport+ and Normal. There is a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor. The combined power figures stand at around 194 BHP and is mated to an electronically controlled CVT unit. The car can be used in only electric or petrol modes or one can even use both together. The Lexus NX 300h offers 18.32 kilometres per litre in terms of fuel economy.
The Lexus NX 300h will be available at the Lexus Experience Centres in New Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai and Gurugram in tandem with the Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi and Chandigarh authorized service centres. The Lexus NX 300h will be competing with the Mercedes-Benz GLC, BMW X3, Audi Q5 and Volvo XC60 in the Indian market.
