The Lexus NX is scheduled to be launched on the 17th of November, 2017, in the Indian market. The teaser image for the same has already been released by Lexus online. The NX will be slotted beneath the RX as the smallest SUV from the brand. Lexus has created this as a heavily modified and changed version of the platform used by the Toyota RAV4. There are three NX models that are globally available, namely the NX300, NX200 and the NX300h. The NX300h petrol-electric hybrid model will be the one coming to the Indian market. There is no diesel engine version of the NX.
The NX300h measures 4, 640 mm, 1, 645 mm and 1,845 mm in terms of length, height and width respectively. The car gets a 2,660 mm wheelbase along with 170 mm of ground clearance. There is a 2.5 litre 2AR-FXE petrol engine coupled to a 2JM electric motor. The petrol mill dishes out 152 PS and 206 Nm and the electric motor churns out 143 PS and 270 Nm. This is the configuration for the FWD model while the AWD model has the 2FM rear electric motor which makes 68 PS and 139 Nm. The fuel economy figures (as tested) stand at roughly 21 kilometres per litre and 19 kilometres per litre for the FWD and AWD models respectively.

The Lexus NX gets features like LED triple projector beam headlamps, LED tail lamps, LED daytime running lights, heads-up display, 18-inch alloy wheels, heated and ventilated front seats, 10.3-inch infotainment unit and navigation, reclining and power folding seats at the rear, 360-view monitor and a power moonroof. The Lexus NX will be offered in the F Sport and Luxury grades in the Indian market and the Indian-spec version is confirmed to get the head-up display and navigation as per reports.
The Lexus NX will take on the Volvo XC60, Audi Q5, Mercedes Benz GLC and BMW X3. The car is expected to be priced at approximately INR 74 lakhs and INR 78 lakhs for the Luxury and F Sport grades in the Indian market.
