Booming Scorpio sees a Limited Edition Version
The Scorpio was launched into the Indian Automobile industry in 2002 and as it hit the roads, it was an instant success. It turned out to be the highlight of Mahindra’s vehicle portfolio and consumers’ just lapped it up.It is a popular SUV which sports many features like powerful engines etc. This car transformed the way people thought about utility vehicles and soon this value for money SUV won the hearts of many Indians. Over the years, this vehicle has been updated quite a few times, and now we get to see the Limited Edition Adventure Version of the Scorpio.
The Scorpio has proven immensely successful to Mahindra, and now they are all set with their newly launched vehicle - the new Mahindra Scorpio Adventure Limited Edition version in India which launched on April 25th 2016. This model is said to be priced at approximately INR 13.07 lakhs and is kept only as a Limited Edition wherein only 1000 pieces will be manufactured for sale. This new version will be an Adventure Version and will be based on the S10 variant of the new generation Scorpio - which is incidentally the high-end variant.
Additions to the New Version
The new features and decals which come with the new Scorpio match the adventure theme. Since it is based on the S10 version, some of the features will remain the same but the additional and new features to the vehicle’s exterior are:
- Gun metal alloy wheels
- OVRMs with side indicators
- Offbeat yet polished looking smoked tail lamps
- Adventure theme graphics on the exterior body which are mist silver and white dual tone in color
- Triple jet windscreen washer

All these new added features are seen for the first time ever in the Scorpio range. Although the exterior has added features the vehicle, it is identical to the classic version in terms of proportion and design. Taking a Deeper Look into the Cabin. A host of features have not only been added to the exterior, but the interiors too come with added features.

- Faux leather strapped steering wheel and gear
- Faux leather seats with blue fabric insert
- Rearview camera
- Red brake calipers

- 6”inch touch screen infotainment system which comes with GPS navigation and fully automatic temperature control

Most of the other features that exist are seen on the prevailing version of the S10. The added features are meant for the Scorpio to stand out on the road and have a mighty road presence. This variant offers front facing third row seats with two seating options – (2-3-3) and (2-2-3). The 3rd row seating also comes with a foldable armrest and this space can also be used as luggage storage while travelling, if there are no passengers seated there.
A Peek into the Bonnet
The Adventure Version of the Scorpio is offered in both 2WD and 4WD. It is powered by the same engine as the regular Scorpio which is a 2.2L 217cc mHawk diesel engine (1997cc in Delhi, NCR region) that produces 121PS of power and a torque of 280Nm. This engine is linked to a five-speed manual transmission. The Mahindra Scorpio can hit 60kmph in about 5.4 seconds. The fuel efficiency of this vehicle is averaged at 11.2kmpl which may not be top notch but for a heavy duty SUV, it seems fair. Some of the features of this engine are anti-roll technologies, LED parking lights which are in the shape of an eyebrow, cushion suspension, 43cms (17 inch) alloy wheels and static bending projector headlamps.

Some might consider this version to be a facelift model rather than a new release, but Mahindra has put in efforts to straighten out all hitches and provide a smooth to drive vehicle.
