In a major coup of sorts, bookings for the Mahindra NuvoSport have been opened at almost all Mahindra & Mahindra dealerships across the country. While there has been no official confirmation from Mahindra & Mahindra in this regard, it is believed that bookings are already being taken for the compact SUV due to be launched on the 4th of April. The bookings are being done solely at the dealerships and the website created for the NuvoSport still mentions that bookings open post launch.
The minimum booking amount being accepted by Mahindra dealerships is INR 10, 000 and this step is being deemed a good move by automobile industry experts and sales personnel. The low booking amount fosters greater and immediate convenience for people who wish to book the car without spending too much at first. This move and the low booking amount should definitely pull in greater volumes for Mahindra & Mahindra according to industry experts. The NuvoSport is one of the most anticipated vehicles in the compact SUV segment this year. It is definitely successful in terms of creating a buzz amongst fans and loyalists of the Mahindra brand along with prospective car buyers in this segment.
Check On Road Price of Mahindra NuvoSport in Mumbai
Mahindra & Mahindra is expected to price the NuvoSport quite competitively between INR 6-8.5 lakhs on an average. These are ex-showroom estimates and such pricing would put the NuvoSport directly in competition with rivals like the Ford EcoSport and the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. The NuvoSport is a massive improvement on the Quanto, its predecessor. The Quanto was the first ever compact utility vehicle tailored for Indian markets. However, the dated design resembling the Xylo and other drawbacks made the compact SUV a big flop in India. There were also murmurs relating to insufficient marketing and promotional efforts in addition to improper positioning.
However, Mahindra & Mahindra has had considerable success with the TUV300 compact SUV which has sold in huge numbers and is still one of the company’s top sellers. The experience garnered with the TUV300 will help the company rack up the volumes for the new NuvoSport. The NuvoSport flaunts a refreshing and unique design as compared to the Quanto and the front fascia has been completely changed, giving the vehicle a rugged, sporty and attractive look. The NuvoSport is expected to have six variants spread across four grades, namely the N4, N4+, N6, N6 AMT, N8 and N8 AMT. The base N4 grade will have dual airbags as an option according to sources while ABS could be a standard feature for the entire vehicle range. The top end model will come with premium features like alloy wheels, a touch screen infotainment system with Bluetooth and voice recognition technology, tilt steering adjustability, steering mounted controls and more.
The compact SUV should have a 5 speed manual transmission unit while an AMT option may also be offered by Mahindra & Mahindra. Apart from its proven 1.5 litre diesel engine which is used for the TUV300, the company may also introduce its 1.2 litre petrol motor which is seen on the KUV100.
