Mahindra & Mahindra is working on a new compact SUV which is currently called the S201 (codename) and it has been spotted testing on Indian roads. The S201 is heavily camouflaged while testing but there may be dual-five spoke star-shaped alloy wheels for the car on offer along with new tail lamps and of course, uniquely designed ORVMs.
The new S201 will be a sub-4m offering and may get a diesel 1.6 litre engine which will be new along with a petrol 1.5 litre engine that is also being developed by Mahindra & Mahindra. There may be 5-speed manual and AMT transmission options available for the S201 as well.

The TUV300 Plus will be an extended version of the sub-4m TUV300 which is quite popular in the Indian market. This will be a full fledged 7-seater variant which will have bigger jump seats. This may actually lead to seating options for 9 people and this has also led to speculations about the TUV300 Plus being targeted majorly for the fleet category.

The TUV300 Plus may get the D120 badging for its sides and the four-cylinder 1.5 litre diesel engine may continue to be used for the car. There are also reports of Mahindra considering the diesel 2.2 litre engine used for the XUV500 and Scorpio SUVs in case of the TUV300 Plus. Both of these cars are eagerly awaited by enthusiasts and should help Mahindra & Mahindra drive higher sales volumes in the burgeoning SUV segment.
