Incorporating consumer insights:
When we talk about the launch of mHAWK100 engine on the whole TUV300 range of Mahindra, it has been the company’s endeavour to include consumer insights. The company has decided to enlarge the capacity of the mHawk engine all over the TUV300 range based on the feedback received from the Indian customers regarding the underpowered nature of this vehicle. This was due to the poor power to weight ratio. Although it was easy to drive in heavy traffic and pulled sound in lower revs, the vehicle delivered a lacklustre performance while pulled harder.
Even lower-end models: superior driving experience
It is now assured that customers of Mahindra who tend to buy the lower end models would also now able to get pleasure from the thrilling and superior drive. These mHawak100 series make use of a 1.5 L diesel engine with four cylinders, which have the ability to generate power up to 100 bhp and peak torque of 240 Nm. It is linearly delivered all the way suitable to 2800 rpm while compared to 2250 rpm delivered in the mHawk80 motor and makes it more drivable. The extra power will come in handy at the time of overtaking or cruising at a very high speed. As a standard, the engine will be mated to a five-speed gearbox along with an optional 5-speed automatic manual transmission for T8 and T10 variants. But, no changes will be seen on rest of the equipment and features.
More value for your money spent:
While starting off from the standstill, the vehicle simply feels as similar to its lower-powered sibling. Yet, it is not a bad thing because the extra power & torque become evident when the revs scramble into the mid-range. Introduced in September 2015, the Mahindra TUV300 was the only 7-seater at its time in the sub-4 m SUV category. Other features of the vehicle will remain the same with dual tone body color option, a touchscreen infotainment system on top models and much more. Now, the customers will also get the feature of customizing their TUV30 with the help of Luxury Edition Kits and Endurance Kit. Moreover, the company has improved the length of rear seat and raised the height of seat-base padding so as to increase thigh support. This vehicle chiefly competes with the likes of Ford Ecosport and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
