The shark-tooth grille on the older model gives way to a more matured and stylish chrome-studded mesh grille. The new set of headlamps get a new design with double barrel projectors and eye-brow DRLs. The front bumper is also re-designed with a new glossy black housing for the fog lamps. The central air dam finely blends with the grille. Overall the new XUV 500 looks classier and more imposing compared to the previous model.

The ‘running cheetah’ side profile is retained. The new XUV 500 get newly designed Diamond Cut alloy wheels. The running boards get plastic claddings with chrome inserts. The rear lamps are new with a triangle design which wraps the rear corners; this replaces the vertical units on the older model. The tailgate is also new with classy chrome tailgate appliqué, this looks trendier than the one used on the older model. The rear bumper is also mildly tweaked to complete the design.
