The new 2017 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross is definitely witnessing a change in fortunes after notching up lackluster sales volumes after its launch in the Indian market. In spite of being the flagship new model from Maruti Suzuki and the first model to be sold via NEXA dealerships, the previous S-Cross model failed to gain positive responses from customers here.
However, Maruti Suzuki and all its suppliers have invested considerable time and effort into reworking the car and it shows. An investment of INR 100 crore has already been pumped into the 2017 S-Cross and it is now localized by more than 95%.

The 2017 S-Cross has managed to get more than 11,000 bookings in the Indian market already. These are decent and heartening sales figures for the car and wholesale units have already surpassed 5,000 acccording to Maruti Suzuki officials. The new S-Cross gets a considerably modified front fascia including the new chrome grille, projector headlights, LED daytime running lights, wider airdam, beefy front bumper, new alloy wheels, revamped fog lamps and redesigned ORVMs that get integrated turn signal lights.
There are LED tail lamps for the top-end S-Cross model and the rear bumper has also been tweaked for a fresher look.
The 2017 S-Cross also gets a brand new dashboard and premium upholstery in tandem with a new touch screen infotainment system that comes with MirrorLink, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. Safety features include ISOFIX child seat mounts, ABS with EBD and dual airbags. The S-Cross also comes with a rear camera and parking sensor in tandem with a push-start-stop button and keyless entry.
There is a DDiS 200 1.3 litre diesel engine that churns out 89 BHP and 200 Nm and this is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission unit. There is idle-stop start, torque assist, a brake energy regeneration system and gearshift indicator.
