Maruti Suzuki has launched a limited edition variant for the popular Swift hatchback at a time when the model is close to being phased out. The new 2018 Swift will be shown at the upcoming 2018 Auto Expo as per reports and this limited edition variant gets several cosmetic changes along with both diesel and petrol options. The limited edition variant will be slotted between base L and V trims.
The limited edition Swift comes at Rs.5.45 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the petrol version and Rs.6.34 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the diesel version. The hatchback comes with several upgrades including new decals for the doors, bonnet and roof along with matching upholstery for the cabin and steering wheel. There is a touch screen infotainment system sourced from cars like the S-Cross, Baleno and Ignis. This has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility along with Bluetooth.
There will be speakers with additional bass and carpet mats. The engines will be the same 1.3 litre diesel and 1.2 litre petrol mills. There will be 5-speed manual transmission systems available for both these engines. This may also be a strategy from Maruti Suzuki to clear stocks of the current Swift before the launch of the new generation model next year.
