The increased supply of the popular models like Baleno and the compact SUV Vitara Brezza from Gujarat has reduced the waiting period. The Baleno used to have a waiting period of about 6 to 8 months, but that is around 8 to 10 weeks in the present. The similar waiting period is also applicable for Brezza nowadays.
The added extra capacity from Gujarat has also enabled the company to adjust the production at the Gurgaon and the Manesar plants for the other models. There had been an element of discomfort with customers having to wait for such a long time, which can now be avoided. That factor has now become totally insignificant.
The new Dzire sedan has also received a robust response and had become the second best selling model in December after Alto. The new Swift would also be rolled out from the Gujarat plant. The company expects that the demand would be more than the average of 15,000 units that the old model had been making. It also produces a large output from the two plants in Haryana.
