Maxxis group is one of the leading companies in the global market to manufacture rubber goods and they have now extended their units to India with the inauguration of the first manufacturing facility in Gujarat. A subsidiary of Cheng Shin Rubber Ind. Co. Ltd, Maxxis is the largest two-wheeler tyre manufacturer and is placed ninth globally when it comes to tyre manufacturing.After over two decades of dominance in the world market, the company has finally entered India. The company has already spread across 6 continents and 180 countries in the world with 21 manufacturing plants and 5 research and development centers.
The Maxxis Rubber India was recently inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani, in the presence of the Chairman of Maxxis Group, Tsai-Jen Lo, the President of Maxxis India Cheng-Yao Liao and the Spokesperson of Maxxis India, Jia-Ciao Liou. During the inaugural speech, the President of Maxxis India expressed his intentions of extending full support to the government's 'Make in India' initiative.
In his speech Jia-Ciao Liou, Spokesperson, Maxxis India expressed complete commitment towards delivering world class quality products and services to Indian customers. Currently, Maxxis supplies tyres to brands like Mahindra, Tata, Maruti Suzuki, Jeep and Honda in India. They are also looking to extend their branches to Africa and Middle East countries in the upcoming years.
The Maxxis group have invested about Rs 2640 crore for establishing their plant in Sanand, Gujarat than spans across 106 acres and is solely dedicated to manufacturing tyres of two-wheelers and tubes. The plant will be sufficient even to belt out 20000 tyres and 40000 tubes per day with the aim of grabbing 15% share of India’s tyre market in the next 5 years. The first phase of production already started in August 2017 with a workforce of 600 people. Other facilities like mixing, tyre building, and curing are done at the plants and also boasts of 'Effluent Treatment Plant' (ETP) and 'Sewage Treatment Plant' (STP).
