Mercedes launched the facelifted version of their SLK 55 AMG roadster as the AMG SLC43 under the company’s new nomenclature scheme. The car was globally unveiled at the 2016 Detroit motor show. Internationally the SLC competes in the class dominated by the Audi TT, Jaguar F-Type, and the Porsche 718 Boxster S.

On the styling front, the new SLC gets a new face with revised bumpers, steeply raked radiator grille with the signature three-pointed star logo and revised headlamps with dual beam setup and LED daytime running lamps.
Not much changes on the side profile compared to the outgoing SLK, however, the rear gets a new set of taillights and restyled bumper with chrome-tipped double barrel exhausts. The highlight, the metal folding roof can be opened and closed at speeds up to 40 kmph.
Inside, SLC gets a new instrument cluster, a 7-inch media display, and a new multi-function flat bottom steering wheel.

The bigger 5.5-litre naturally aspirated V8 motor give way to a smaller 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo gasoline engine that generates 367 bhp power and 520 Nm torque. Mercedes 9G automatic gearbox does the transmission duties. The car can reach 0-100 kmph in 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 250 kmph (electronically limited).
The car is priced at Rs 77.50 lacs (ex-showroom Delhi).
