Maruti Suzuki is reportedly aiming to launch the new generation WagonR hatchback sometime next year as per reports. The car has already been spotted testing on Indian roads and the production version could get the same boxy shape in addition to a new front fascia and square headlamps. There will be a redesigned black grille and a wide air dam in tandem with sleek ORVMs and round shaped fog lamps. The full wheel cover for the top-end model should be available along with steel wheels. The tail lights and rear bumper are also expected to be absolutely new.
The new generation WagonR model is expected to get interiors that are more premium and the K10B petrol three-cylinder engine will be retained. This engine dishes out 67 BHP and 90 Nm. There will also be 5-speed manual and AGS transmission options. The new WagonR first launched in 1999 and the current generation version has been available from the year 2013. Last year, Maruti Suzuki brought in the top VXI+ trim for the car which is basically an upgraded version of the more premium WagonR Stingray model.
