Hyundai India has tasted huge success with the Creta SUV in the country and the Tucson has also done relatively well although the full-sized and premium Santa Fe SUV has not found too many takers in the market. Betting big on the utility vehicle category, the company is already working on the production version of the QXi or what we know as the Carlino sub-compact SUV concept. Hyundai India is also reportedly planning to start work on a brand new A-segment SUV offering for the Indian market. This product may arrive by the year 2020 as confirmed by the Vice Chairman at the company, Eui-sun Chang.
However, no official details have been announced by the company as of yet regarding this new product. Hyundai will be launching the facelifted version of the Creta in 2018 while the new generation i10 will arrive by 2020 as well. This car may use the same platform as the A-segment SUV as per reports. The QXi will be a rival for popular cars like the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Honda WR-V and the newly launched Tata Nexon.

The A-segment SUV space will be a hotly contested one in the future. Maruti Suzuki is already planning a new SUV for this segment in order to compete with the Renault Kwid while Volkswagen is also planning its T-Track A-segment SUV for the Indian market by the year 2020.
