The new Mercedes-Benz GLA Facelift was first introduced at the North America International Auto Show, which was held in January, 2015 at Detroit. The facelifted GLA gets a more SUV-esque appearance along with several upgrades in terms of features and styling.

To make things even more attractive, the GLA Facelift gets a new front bumper along with a new grille. There are chain-linked chrome elements. The front bumper is sharper now and also gets bigger air intakes.
The new LED headlamps that have replaced bi-xenon lamps from the previous models are very attractive. Then there are edgier LED daytime running lights that are very useful indeed. The LED tail lamps are also redesigned to match this new model.
There are signature black elements from Mercedes-Benz spotted throughout the new outside rear-view mirrors, new black alloy wheels with inbuilt chrome highlights, blacked roof and the B-pillar. The ground clearance stands at an impressive 183 mm. The electric tailgate comes with the motion detection feature, which can be handled easily with simple foot gestures

The interior layout is hugely similar to the previous GLA with a few additions. The 8-inch infotainment system is a new addition while there are several chrome bits for the cabin. There are four new trim options with new upholstery along with a 360-degree parking camera with bird’s eye view. There is an integrated CD drive compatible with MP3 and WMA/AAC files and there is also a multi-functional steering wheel. There are other infotainment features like Aux and USB connectivity along with Bluetooth, hands-free functions and integral telephone keypad among others.
There is smartphone connectivity through Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This helps the car get navigation and traffic updates along with streaming media from IP radio along with helping in case of telephony, messaging and Face Time. The switches and knobs have been given a new finish, which makes the car look smarter.
Legroom remains impressive and boot space stands at 421 litres and this can be increased to 1235 litres by folding the second-row seats. Interior room may be a little elusive for a taller person but is reasonably good otherwise.
Engine and performance:
There is a 2.1-litre diesel engine that comes in two avatars, namely the 200 d which makes 134 BHP and the 220 d which dishes out 168 BHP. There is the 2 litre petrol engine in the GLA 200 model that makes 181 BHP. The engine is punchy and responsive and also comes with a 7-speed automatic transmission unit and AWD/4WD options.
The Mercedes Benz GLA Facelift also gets Active Brake Assist along with the Attention Assist features, which senses drowsiness of drivers and offers an attention alarm accordingly. Other safety features include keyless entry, airbags, parking sensors and more.
