Upon its release, the Swift was an instant hit. It drove car enthusiasts’ interests like crazy. And is considered an all-time favourite even today! Although, in the recent past, sales have dropped, the popularity of the car still remains unbroken which is why Maruti has been able to hold its position in the market. But with newer cars coming at a faster pace to the market, Maruti had to keep up and not lose their hold on the market and hence, they released the Swift DLX. By introducing special offers, special editions, discounts etc. the company is trying its best to keep the numbers on the higher side of the spectrum. Competitors too adopt this strategy and many have been successful and now, Maruti joins the bandwagon.

In 2017, the company is all set to release the next generation Swift and the Swift Sport which they are presently working on and only the former might see the light in our country. But until then, they have to keep the customers engaged with this model to keep them on their grounds.

Maruti has slowly seen a decline and the Swift is ending its lifespan. Now, an outdated design, reduced innovation along with fresh competition in the stable like the Baleno etc. has given rise to the downfall of the Swift. A much needed push is what Maruti is doing with this model as we have to wait a whole year for the new generation model.
