The fiver seater compact MPV Solio from Suzuki has been spied testing on Indian roads. The car is reportedly testing near the Maruti Suzuki plant at Manesar. The Solio has previously been displayed by Maruti Suzuki at the 2012 Auto Expo although it came in a 7-seater version back then. The car spied in India is a 5-seater model with sliding doors for passengers at the back.

In Japan, the Suzuki Solio comes with the K12 1.2 litre engine which is also used for the Swift which is sold in the Japanese market. There is a hybrid set-up option available as well. The combined output of the hybrid model is 91 hp and there is 118 Nm of peak torque dished out. The hybrid engine is mated to a 5-speed AMT unit as standard while the regular and mild hybrid engines are paired to CVT units. 4WD is also available for the regular and mild hybrid engines used in the Solio.
Maruti Suzuki has not officially issued any confirmation about launching the Solio in the Indian market. However, the model may be shown at the 2018 Auto Expo and could be a part of the hybrid technology lineup displayed by Maruti Suzuki at the event.
