The RACEMO is the first sports coupe (two-seater) from India and the first innovative concept from the TAMO sub-brand owned by Tata Motors, one of the country’s foremost automakers. The RACEMO had garnered sufficient eyeballs when it was unveiled officially at the 87th edition of the Geneva International Motor Show.
The RACEMO has been designed exclusively at the Tata Motors Design Studio, Turin, Italy. The RACEMO has now snapped up the hugely prestigious GDA (German Design Award) for International Excellence in the Gold category pertaining to Exceptional Product Design. The RACEMO fuses the IMPACT design touches from Tata Motors including the Diamond DLO, Humanity Line and Slingshot Line to great effect.
According to the CEO & Managing Director at Tata Motors, Guenter Butschek, the iconic German Design Council Gold Award for Automotive Design definitely makes the company proud of the sheer passion and skill of the Global Design team. The RACEMO blends Indian innovation with Italian aesthetics, making for a futuristic bet according to him. He expressed confidence that it would connect better with aspirational Indian customers.
The Head of Design at Tata Motors, Pratap Bose, the RACEMO winning this award within just a few months of being showcased globally is a huge milestone for the Design Team at Tata Motors. He added that the RACEMO was created out of an intensive collaboration between the engineering and design teams at the company.

It initially started as a design study and is currently a two-seater sports coupe, which is production ready according to Bose. This car has been designed for a more global Indian customer according to him. He also added that Tata Motors is thrilled about the prospects of launching the RACEMO in the Indian market.
