Tata had some interesting cars showcased at their pavilion for this year’s Auto Expo. They took wraps off many cars which will hit the Indian as well as global markets soon.
The pavilion was divided into different thematic zones: Residential zone, Urban Zone, Smart Energy Zone, Sports Zone, Semi-urban Zone, Inter City Zone, Intra-city Zone and Rising City Zone. We walk you thru the Tata’s 6000 square meters expansive pavilion.
Tata Racemo and Racemo EV
It is the first sports car under the TAMO (Tata Motorsports) brand. The car is powered by a 1.2-liter Revotron turbocharged petrol motor which pumps out 187 hp power and 210 Nm torque. The car was designed at Tata’s design studio in Turin, Italy.
They also showcased Racemo EV at the Auto Expo. This one has some blue accents indicating the electric motive power under. The car has a rated max power of 201 hp and an impressive range of 350 Kilometres on a single charge.

H5X uses the “Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced” architecture developed in collaboration with the Land Rover. This architecture is an off-shoot of Land Rover D8 design. H5x is the first SUV to use Tata’s Impact 2.0 design language. The car has a futuristic and attractive interior design layout as well. The showcased piece came fitted with massive 22-inch alloy wheels with 265/40 section tires.
Tata Tigor EV
The EV variant of Tata’s popular styleback was on display. Tata recently won a tender for supplying 10,000 Tigor EVs to Government of India (for Energy Efficiency Services Limited JV). The car gets a lot of blue accents indicating the electric power under the hood. The Tigor EV is powered by a 216 Ah, 72V electric battery which generates a peak power of 40 hp. The car can cover 130 Kilometres on a single charge and can attain a top speed of 100 Km/h.
Tata 45X Concept
This ‘in early stage’ concept uses Tata’s new “Agile Light Flexible Advanced” design architecture. This design could be the basis for the Tata’s of the future and shares a lot of design cues with the H5X.
Tata Tigor JTP and Tiago JTP
These are performance variants of the normal Tigor and Tiago jointly researched and developed by Coimbatore based Jayem Auto and Tata Motors. Both the cars are powered by a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engines with a max power of 108 hp and a peak torque of 150 Nm.
Tata Nexon AMT
Tata displayed an AMT variant of the Nexon at the Auto Expo. The car is powered by a diesel engine.
Tata Nexon Aero
This is a jazzed-up variant of the Nexon. The car gets a body kit while retaining the mechanicals of a normal Nexon. There are some subtle changes on the inside as well.
Tata displayed their Hexa in a new shade of liquid silver with a gloss back roof and dark grey alloys. We spotted entertainment screens for the rear passengers.
