Tata Motors has reduced prices of commercial vehicles after the GST rollout in India. According to the Head of the Commercial Vehicle Business Unit at Tata Motors, Girish Wagh, the company welcomes this initiative taken by the Union Government wholeheartedly and this reform brings in uniform taxation across the country as well according to him.
Wagh added that GST will also boost the economy of the country considerably along with providing innumerable benefits for stakeholders while also increasing the overall ease of doing business in India. After the GST rollout, Tata Motors has also decided to reduce ex-showroom prices and pass on the benefits to customers according to Wagh.
He confirmed that price reductions are being offered on commercial vehicles (cargo) between 0.3-4.21% in case of commercial vehicles (passenger transportation), the reduction in prices is between 0.6-8.2%. Wagh also expressed his confidence in the price reduction after GST turning into a major enabler for customers with regard to lowering their operational costs and also boosting demand in turn.
