Tata Motors has backed the vision of the Indian Government towards building future smart cities with its Smart Mobility, Smart Cities theme at the 2018 Auto Expo. The company is displaying new age mobility solutions for cities with intelligent connectivity. These solutions will offer more safety, efficiency and connectivity to customers. Tata Motors is the sole OEM with a comprehensive portfolio of commercial and passenger vehicle categories. Tata Motors’ product portfolio covers all needs right from personal cars and commercial utility vehicles to public transport vehicles, BRTS, last mile connectivity, green solutions, performance vehicles and even emergency response vehicles.
Tata Motors has globally debuted two innovative concepts at the 2018 Auto Expo, namely the 5-seater H5X concept SUV and the 45X concept premium hatchback. The brand new Tata INTRA has been shown in the commercial vehicle category by Bollywood star Akshay Kumar. The SIGNA 4323 has also been shown which is the first 6-axle rigid truck in the country with a 30-ton payload (best in the market). The Ultra T.7 which is an LCV has also been shown and makes use of the modular ULTRA platform.
The new IMPACT 2.0 design language has been announced by the company for passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles. According to the Managing Director & CEO at Tata Motors, Guenter Butschek, the company has a long and fulfilling relationship with the Auto Expo and this time around, Tata Motors has given it a whole new spin with its theme and innovative exhibits. The futuristic and architecture of the company, the 45X and H5X concepts, INTRA, new LCV and other products define mobility of the future in India according to him.
The #SmartMobility pavilion from Tata Motors covers a 6000 sq. meter hall and is divided into zones like the Sports Zone, Urban High-Density Residential Zone, Semi-Urban Zone, Smart Energy Zone, Rising City Zone and Inter and Intracity Zone. There will be digital engagement options for every exhibit. The Urban high-density Residential Zone will have the Nexon Aero and the upcoming Nexon AMT. The Sports Zone will have high-performance products like the Tigor JTP and Tiago JTP built by JT Special Vehicles Private Limited, a JV between Jayem Automotives Private Limited and Tata Motors. There will be the TAMO RACEMO, the country’s first connected two-seater sports coupe.
The Smart Energy Zone will have 6 electric vehicles for mass and personal mobility. There will be the 12 m electric bus with the smart bus stop and passenger carriers, the Iris EV and Magic EV. The Racemo EV, Tiago EV and Tigor EV models will also be displayed in this zone. The Semi-Urban zone will have a special Hexa SUV edition shown for customers. There will be several commercial vehicles shown for the Intra and Intercity Link Zone. There will be connectivity solutions for the last mile along with passenger carriers, mining and heavy construction vehicles and transportation vehicles. There will be the Ultra T.7, Xenon Special Police Vehicle and Magna Bus on display along with the Signa 4323, Prima 4930.S, Prima 3718 and the Signa 2518 which is featured in the Rising City Zone and gets a Schwing Stetter Boom Pump mounted onto it.
