Toyota Innova which began its journey in the Indian roads in 2005 has had a steady, warm, consumer response and interest and has definitely won a special place in people’s heart and minds. The new-gen MPV, Toyota Innova Crysta is set in an all-new International Multi-purpose Vehicle platform, IMV which is lighter, safer and a stronger model than its immediate predecessor. The family car, Toyota Innova Crysta will be offered in both diesel and petrol versions and is expected to hit the Indian roads in the second half of 2016.

The Toyota Innova Crysta is based on the TNGA, Toyota New Global Architecture platform and also the new IMV, International Multi-purpose Vehicle platform. This platform has been tried and tested in other Toyota models and it is referred to as the Frame with Integrated Rigidity Mechanism, which basically helps augment the front and side impact of the vehicle structure.
The Toyota Innova Crysta retains its present box-like design, but looks more advanced and attractive with a lower roofline, giving it a longer appearance. A couple exterior design elements are definitely borrowed from other vehicles from within the Toyota family and have a stunning front façade and also an appealing rear profile too. Significantly noticeable wheel arches and alloy wheels complete its makeover look.

The feature-heavy and chic interior of the new Toyota Innova Crysta definitely carries a major Toyota Corolla hangover in its interior design. The dual-tone, beige and black theme is common and coupled with other features makes for a very inviting plush interior. The makeover has ensured that it is very spacious and comfortable and comes in both 7 and 8-seater ergonomic seating option. Good cabin space and perfect for long travel, comfort seems to be the middle word in the new Toyota Innova Crysta. With the latest in connectivity and touch screen entertainment, and LED lighting and a good deal of safety features, definitely ensures that the makeover is complete.
The Toyota Innova Crysta Engine Specs and Transmissions
Toyota Innova Crysta comes in a 2-engine option. An impressive 2.4 litre diesel mill and a 2.0 litre four-pot petrol motor with power radiating even to its rear wheels and a 6-speed automatic gearbox as well. Also the new GD diesel engine is expected to be more efficient than the earlier KD engine option and comes with better fuel economy; the engines have definitely been given a facelift. The highest speed of the vehicle is about 170 kmph. It can move from idle to 100 kmph in about 12.8 seconds.

The Toyota Innova Crysta Pricing and Competition
The Toyota Innova Crysta is expected to be priced between INR 10 to 16 lakhs with the base model costing around 10 lakhs and moving upwards to INR 16 lakhs for its top-end model in the segment. Its closest competitors in the MPV segment are expected to be current favorites, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Honda Mobilio, Mahindra Xylo Renault Lodgy, Nissan Evalia and the yet to be launched Chevrolet Spin.
The Toyota Innova Crysta debuted in the Auto Expo 2016.
