Toyota Innova Crysta

The launch of Toyota Innova Crysta, couple of months ago, has garnered good sales numbers and is now nominated as one of the highest selling MVPs in the country. Presently, the Crysta is offered only in two diesel options (2.4L and 2.8L).

Owing to the ban

The diesel vehicle ban which is observed currently in the States of Delhi and Kerala means that vehicles with over 2000cc engines cannot be registered. This gave rise to the new version of the Innova Crysta which is the petrol version. This petrol version is now open for bookings at a token amount of INR 1 lakh and will be delivered during the month of August 2016. This MVP is said to be priced at INR 14.7 lakhs as per a tweet by the company.

This release will help Toyota deal with the ban and at the same time cater to the customers’ needs of shifting from a diesel to a petrol vehicle. Other automakers like the home-grown automaker, Mahindra have already entered this market and are already set on target; and if Toyota didn’t want to be left behind, it’s high time Toyota joins the rat race and move forward.

A Peek into the Details of the Petrol Version

The technical and other details about the petrol version are still unclear and unknown. Although, there is some information revealed which is still not a clear picture. The engine is said to be a 2.7-litre Dual VVT-i petrol unit which churns out 164bhp of power and a torque of 245Nm. Two transmission options will be given to customers which are a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. Three trims are going to be offered – G, V and Z.

Looks like, except the engine, the interiors, exteriors and other features are said to remain unchanged.
