Welcome to Part 2 of the article on upcoming SUVs in the Indian market.

If you have read Part 1 of the article, then you already know 5 SUVs which are about to be released.

Now, let’s take a look at a few more upcoming SUVs:

Renault Kaptur

A crossover/SUV kind of design, the Kaptur is identical in looks to its sister model in the international market. It is different from the Renault Captur in terms of size and is based on a different platform too. In the product line-up the Kaptur will be placed above the Duster. The exterior is a lot sportier looking and quite unlike the existing models. The interior too comes laden with a load of features.

Engine Type – 1.6L petrol/ 1.5L diesel

Power & Torque – 103bhp-150Nm / 108bhp-250Nm

Transmission – Manual (6- speed) / Manual & automatic(6 speed)

Estimated mileage – 15 km/l and 20 km/l

Expected to launch – End 2017

Approximate Price – INR 10 – 13 lakh

 Renault Kaptur

Hyundai Carlino

This is the South Korean automaker’s sub compact SUV which was recently showcased at the Auto Expo 2016. Although there are not too many details out regarding the Carlino, it is said to be positioned below the Creta and the SUV’s rivals would be the Maruti Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport.

Engine Type – 1.2L Turbo Petrol/1.5L Turbo Diesel

Power&Torque – 110BHP-140Nm/110BHP-210Nm

Transmission – Manual (6 speed) / Manual & automatic(6 speed)

Estimatedmileage – 18 km/l and 25 km/l

Approximate Price – INR 7 – 10 lakh

Hyundai Carlino

Tata Hexa
Tata Hexa which is proposed to be launched at an affordable price was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2014 in its concept form. This made the Hexa the talk of the town ever since. With the launch soon approaching, the Hexa is said to replace the Aria and this car is developed in association with the Land Rover division. It will be placed higher than the Storme, making it Tata’s flagship offering.

Transmission – Manual (6 speed) / Automatic (6 speed)

Estimatedmileage – 14-15 km/l

Expected to launch – August-September 2016

Tata Hexa

Maruti S-Cross Facelift
Just recently, the S-Cross facelift was unveiled in the international markets and the same is likely to be en-route to the Indian market in the near future. The forthcoming facelift should increase the appeal of the already existing S-Cross. Minor tweaks have been made to the exterior and the interior remains almost unchanged.

Power&Torque – 89BHP-200Nm / 120bhp – 320Nm

Transmission – Manual (6- speed) / Automatic (6 speed)

Estimatedmileage – 23km/l

Expected to launch – End 2017

Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Facelift

Maruti Suzuki Jimny (2018 Maruti Gypsy)
According to reports, the manufacturing of the next-gen Jimny is said to be a ‘Made in India’ project. The car will be launched in India and will also be exported to other countries from here. The Jimny is expected to replace the ever popular Maruti Gypsy.

Transmission – Manual (5- speed)

Estimatedmileage – 24km/l

Expected to launch – Mid 2018

Approximate Price – INR 6 – 8 lakh

Maruti Suzuki Jimny
