The German car maker, Volkswagen announced price hike for their Polo hatchback and Vento sedan with immediate effect.
The company has attributed the price hike to the additional features incorporated into both these cars. Both the cars will now be sporting the advanced 2 DIN RCD 320 music system with Bluetooth, USB, AUX and SD card reader and climatronic air conditioner. The prices for both the cars are hiked up to 2.7%.
“Our aim has always been to give our customers a good value proposition and once again we are glad to be able to offer a good reason for them to buy these carlines”, was the comment from Arvind Saxena, Managing Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars on the price hike. He has also mentioned that the input costs are steadily rising and VW has tried their best to absorb the increase in production cost to a great extent. Also, he reaffirmed the commitment of Volkswagen to offer the best-in-class quality and technology to their customers.
The prices for the Polo and Vento will see an increase of upto INR 22,700 and INR 26,800 respectively from 1st February 2017. Currently, the Polo Petrol is priced in the INR 5.58 lakh to INR 7.62 lakh range, whereas the Diesel Polo is priced at INR 7.12 lakh to INR 9.18 lakh price bracket. The more powerful GT twins are priced at INR 9.39 lakh and INR 9.50 lakh for the TSI and TDI variants respectively. The Vento is currently priced in the INR 8.44 lakh – INR 9.90 lakh price bracket for the petrol and INR 9.79 lakh – INR 13.14 lakh price bracket for the diesel variant
